Our Story

Kopela Primary School was established over three decades ago to serve the educational needs of the children of Kopela Village and surrounding communities in the Ngaka Modiri Molema District within the North West Province of South Africa.

What began as a modest community initiative has grown into a thriving institution serving over 430 learners. Our school has weathered many changes over the years, but our commitment to quality education has remained unwavering. We are proud to be classified as a Section 21 school, which empowers our School Governing Body to manage school funds and make important decisions that directly benefit our learners.

As a Quintile 2 No Fee school, we are dedicated to removing financial barriers to education, ensuring that every child in our community can access quality primary schooling regardless of their family's economic circumstances.

Our Mission, Vision & Values

Guided by purpose and driven by a passion for nurturing young minds in our community.

Our Mission

To provide holistic, quality primary education that develops each learner's intellectual, social, emotional, and physical potential. We strive to create lifelong learners who are equipped with the skills and values necessary to contribute meaningfully to South African society.

Our Vision

To be a centre of educational excellence in the Ngaka Modiri Molema District, where every child is empowered to achieve their full potential. We envision a school that is a beacon of hope, opportunity, and transformation in Kopela Village.

Our Core Values

We embrace Ubuntu — "I am because we are." Our core values of Respect, Integrity, Excellence, Compassion, and Community guide everything we do, from classroom teaching to our relationships with parents and neighbours.

  • Integration of indigenous knowledge and modern educational practices
  • Fostering critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills
  • Building strong foundations in literacy, numeracy, and life skills
