A vibrant, nurturing community where learning extends beyond the classroom
Every day at Kopela Primary School is filled with learning, laughter, creativity, and community spirit. Here's a glimpse into our vibrant school life.
Our Annual Sports Day is the highlight of the school calendar. Learners compete in track and field events, relay races, netball, soccer, and traditional African games. The event brings together learners, staff, parents, and the wider Kopela Village community in a spirit of friendly competition and celebration.
Teams compete for house points, with the winning house taking home the coveted Sports Day trophy. It's a day of excitement, teamwork, and school pride that our learners look forward to every year.
Kopela Primary School proudly celebrates South Africa's rich cultural heritage through vibrant festivals and Heritage Day activities. Learners perform traditional Tswana dances, sing cultural songs, and showcase traditional dress and cuisine.
These celebrations teach our learners about their roots, foster a sense of identity, and promote respect for South Africa's diverse cultures. Parents and community elders are invited to share stories, traditions, and wisdom with our young learners.
Our club programme gives learners opportunities to explore their interests, develop new skills, and build friendships outside the formal classroom setting.
Our school vegetable garden is a living classroom where learners get their hands dirty and learn about food production, sustainability, and environmental stewardship. Learners plant, tend, and harvest vegetables including spinach, tomatoes, carrots, and butternut squash.
The produce from our garden supplements the school nutrition programme, teaching children the value of fresh, locally grown food. The garden also serves as an outdoor laboratory for Natural Sciences lessons about plant biology, ecosystems, and the water cycle.
Moments that capture the spirit and energy of our school community.
